I received my mission call on May 3, 2012. I will be serving in the Marshall Island Mission as a mission nurse specialist. I am so excited. I enter the MTC on Sept 10th, and will fly to Majuro, MI on Sept 25th. I will be serving for 18 months. In the MTC I will spend the first week studying and learning about being a missionary. The second week will be information and training on being a mission nurse specialist. I have a lot to do to get ready to go. Things I had to get for my visa were a note from my bank saying I was a dependable customer, a note from my doctor saying that I had no communicable diseases (and an HIV test), a note from the police station stating that I did not have a criminal background, immunizations, passport photos, and special forms for the Marshall Islands and Kirabati. In the Marshall Island mission there are two parts. The Marshall Islands which consists of two atoll chains and a total of 29 islands/atolls. The second part is the Kirabati part, formally known as the Gilbert Islands. There are 39 atoll/islands in Kirabati, including Christmas Island, and Nahru, the smallest island kingdom. My family has been so supportive of my mission and I shared my opening of my mission call with all of my children who were either there or were listening on a conference call as I opened it. Those who were actually present (at Matt and Jolynn's house) were Matt, Jolynn, Brooks, Brayden, Brea, Bridger, Izzie, Jason, and my friend Cherrie Miller.
